Our Faculty
Dr. Scott Collins, clinical assistant professor of accounting and director of the one-year master of accounting program, is teaching Managerial Accounting (ACCTG 814) for the Graduate Certificate in Accounting Foundations program. Dr. Collins has served on the Smeal College of Business faculty since 2012 and brings more than 15 years of experience in accounting practice and teaching into his current position at Penn State. Before joining Penn State, he served as a staff auditor, a plant controller, and a financial controller. Dr. Collins teaches undergraduate and graduate courses related to financial accounting, managerial accounting, and accounting information systems.
Dr. Shelley Curling, faculty director of the Graduate Certificate in Accounting Foundations and assistant teaching professor of accounting, is teaching Auditing (ACCTG 813) in the program. She takes great joy in teaching Auditing, Managerial Accounting and Intermediate Financial Accounting to undergraduate and graduate students. Her research interests include the use of the MD&A in mandatory financial disclosure and the impact of emerging technologies on the auditing function.
Mr. Ed Jenkins, instructor of accounting, is teaching Taxation (ACCTG 812) as part of the Graduate Certificate in Accounting Foundations. Mr. Jenkins is a seasoned business executive that possesses an extensive educational background in business. That combination of experience and education provides practiced realism in his writing and teaching. Teaching interests include: Taxation, Accounting, International Business, and Finance. Research interests include: Taxation, accounting and finance with special interests in multinational taxation, mergers and acquisitions, and accounting for income taxes.
